Live Visuals & Real-Time Integration for Hozho

For this edition of Desert Sound, LO2S provided live visual operation and real-time TouchDesigner integration for Hozho’s performance. The stage featured an unconventional 3D LED cube setup, offering a layered and dynamic visual experience that enhanced the artist’s signature sound.

One of the biggest challenges was arriving just two hours before the show, requiring rapid mapping, calibration, and testing under intense time constraints. Despite the pressure, we ensured seamless synchronization between visuals and music, pushing the experience to new heights.

Seeing the techno scene flourish in Saudi Arabia and being part of Desert Sound’s continuous evolution was an unforgettable experience. The festival continues to set the bar higher, and we’re excited to witness its future growth.

Vertex Events designed a stage concept built around two intersecting circles one as a screen and the other an angled mirror positioned beneath it. The goal was to create an illusionary portal effect amplifying the visual energy of the event and enhancing audience immersion. LO2S was brought in to direct the visual language and operate the live content ensuring the experience was seamless and dynamic.

We developed a visual approach that capitalized on the reflective nature of the setup. By strategically designing and operating real-time visuals we maximized the mirror’s potential creating depth distortion and motion that responded dynamically to the music and lighting cues. This interplay between content and physical structure transformed the stage into a kinetic illusion continuously shifting perspectives and drawing audiences into the performance.

The mirror’s angled placement wasn’t just a design feature it was an active component of the visual experience. By layering reflections with precisely synchronized motion graphics the stage became a constantly evolving canvas blurring the line between digital and physical. The effect was not just a display but a sensory phenomenon.
